The Ultimate Cooking Tool For Bodybuilders
What’s so Great About it?
Well, it just works. I’ve used this exact grill by Presto (same exact model in picture and link) for one year straight. I use it 3 times a day, everyday, for every week. Here a quick rundown of its greatness:
- Heats up super quick
- Easy to use
- An amazing non-stick surface
- Awesome build quality
- A breeze to clean
- Very affordable
Ease of Use
With only one knob to turn on, off and adjust the temperature - using this skillet is definitely a no-brainer. The knob, located at the right in the picture above, plugins into the grill and can be taken out. This helps with cleaning the grill because no cords are permanently attached to it.
Non-stick Surface
I’ve had a few griddles before this one, and after cooking on them a few times - a flakey, black crust started to appear on the surface and would not come off no matter how much I cleaned it. Not the Presto Griddle. After almost a 1000 uses (3 times a day X 365 Days), it looks almost brand new still.
Easy to clean
Simply use a paper towel after cooking with it and it’s back to looking brand new. I’ve never scrubbed it, used harsh chemicals, or anything beyond a paper towel. Another no-brainer.
Build Quality
I definitely like the quality of the construction. The Presto Griddle is basically an all metal design with plastic handles. It can definitely handle a few big drops (though I’ve never tested mine).
Price
How much do you value a tool you use two to five times a day, everyday? After using this griddle for over a year, I’d measure it’s worth about $70 - $80 given how reliable and useful it is to me. But, the actual price is much better.
Presto Jumbo Grill: $39 Shipped.
Bottom Line - this griddle is the backbone behind my bodybuilding diet. I’m not Better Crocker and I’m not the “cooking” type (nor are many other guys), but this griddle let’s me cook all my food quickly with no fuss.
UPDATE: My close friend and reader, JR, recently mentioned to me:
JR: “I liked that article on the griddle, but it seemed as though you were trying to ’sell me’ on it”
My original intention is not to ’sell you’, but to make you aware that this tool has truly made my cooking so much easier. So I do recommend buying it, however, it’s not meant to be a sales pitch, it’s really just me being overly enthusiastic about my griddle ![]()

Nice job on the blog Carl, looks very professional! I agree on the griddle, I have one that’s a combo griddle & panini maker and use it for everything (the combo unit is a bit messy, the griddle seems easier to use and easier to clean). I’m just getting back into working out after a couple months off, I’ll be checking back for more posts to see what I should be eating.
